Frequently asked questions
Why does Simal need this information?
Three reasons: (1) UAE e-invoicing rules require your exact legal name, address and TIN on every Peppol invoice we exchange; (2) banking details protect both parties against payment fraud; (3) KYC/AML good practice requires us to know who we trade with, including beneficial owners.
How long does review take?
Most submissions are reviewed within two business days. If a document or field needs correction, we raise a query and only the flagged items need updating — you never redo the whole form.
Is my data safe?
Documents are encrypted in transit and at rest, access is restricted to authorised Simal reviewers, every access is audit-logged, and personal data is processed under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law only for onboarding and compliance purposes.
What is a Peppol ID and do I need one?
The Peppol ID is your company’s address on the international Peppol network used for UAE e-invoicing. For UAE tax-registered companies it follows the format 0235: followed by your 15-digit TRN. If you don’t have one yet, just tell us your e-invoicing status in the form — you can add it later.
What if my licence or Emirates ID expires later?
We track expiry dates and will email you a renewal reminder before expiry, so your master data never silently goes stale.
